Drone Filming and Permits

Commercial drone work in the US requires an FAA Part 107 certificate, and much of Los Angeles sits in controlled airspace that needs authorization before takeoff. Legasee Works handles both. Our certified pilots fly your shot, or serve as Remote Pilot in Command so your own drone director can fly legally on a US production.

Where we work

We fly across the US, and every city has its own airspace rules. We plan authorization around each one.

• Los Angeles and Orange County: Much of the LA basin is controlled airspace around LAX, Burbank, and other airports, so we request authorization in advance
• San Diego: Downtown sits near San Diego International Airport and several military airfields
• San Jose and San Francisco: Downtown San Jose is close to Mineta International Airport, and we plan Bay Area flights around local airspace
• Las Vegas: Much of the Strip sits in controlled airspace near Harry Reid International Airport, and resorts set their own filming rules
• Texas and Arizona: Wide-open sites are ideal for aerial coverage of new facilities and groundbreakings
• New York: Drone flights in New York City are heavily restricted and need special approval, so we plan early

FAQ

Can a drone pilot from Korea fly commercially in the US?

Not on their own. US commercial drone operations require an FAA Part 107 certificate, and foreign licenses aren't recognized. With our supervision package, your pilot can fly under the direct supervision of our certified Remote Pilot in Command.

Can you fly in Los Angeles?

Often, yes. Much of LA is controlled airspace near airports, so we request authorization in advance and plan around restrictions.

How much lead time do you need?

Some authorizations come through quickly, while others can take weeks. Contact us as early as possible, especially for downtown, airport-adjacent, or event locations.
